Isuzu cleans up at JCCS 2013

Since I bought my Impulse, back in August of 2010, I had been wanting to take it down to Long Beach for the Japanese Classic Car Show. As you know, the restoration process took much longer than anticipated, and it was not until this past spring did the Impulse join the ranks of the living again. I could not think of a better way to celebrate its rebirth than to take it on the 8.5 hour drive through sun bleached central California to the 9th annual Japanese Classic Car Show.

Gotta represent @ JCCS 2013

So, the Impulse is headed down to LA this month for JCCS 2013. Supposedly, the first Impulse to ever be a part of the show.  Considering all I have done to the car I am really hoping it makes the 9 hour drive without issue. I have a few more things to do it to get it ready, but I also wanted me and Mrs. IsuzuGeek to have some proper attire to wear on the day of the event.  So I went the cheap route with VistaPrint.  We'll just have to wait and see how the quality is...

His (front). I went with the logo from the site and a line drawing of the Impulse from the owners manual.

"Look at that sweet ass Trooper!"

For Labor Day weekend, we took a long drive up to the Sawtooth Recreation Area of Idaho.  The '90 made it all 1200+/- miles up to Idaho without any issues.  However it seems the always cool engine is starting to have issues when sitting idle, just like the V6 in my 91 had. I don't know if it is the fan clutch or the thermostat that causes this issue, but it is something that will need to be solved during the restore.
And whaddaya know, when we pulled into the parking lot of Galena Lodge where we stayed, there sat another sweet ass Trooper!  As it turns out, this Trooper belonged to fellow PlanetIsuzoo member "88turdbronze"!  Cool!  Get in touch!
