Random find: Isuzu Bus

Ran across this blog today looking at motorcycle photos.  I just love the original Isuzu badge. They should have kept it.

23 year old frame...

Today I pressure washed, degreased, pressure washed again, wire wheeled, and pressure washed again the 91 Trooper's frame in preparation for the ground up build of the "Ultimate Expedition Trooper".  Here are photos of the frame progress.  I'm quite positive now, that although they are nice to me, my neighbors most likely wish I would move away.

Upside down getting cleaned.

Wheel swap

Since the LS will now be my daily driver, and the RS will only be driven sometimes, I decided to swap (and rotate) the nicer snowflakes with ATs over to the LS.

This is how (my wife thinks) my brain works...

"So think big, buy a million Troopers..."
Good idea!! LOL

Body off the frame...

A few more progress pics from today.

Front clip removed and the body off the frame.

There's no turning back...what's done is done.

I tried not to get emotional this morning, but there was a big part of me that hated doing this. Either way, my excitement in knowing that this is for the greater good of my future as a hardcore Trooper fanatic spurred me on.

The first thing I wanted to do, was pull the RS into the garage and pull off the fender on the side where the body damage is. This allowed me to eye ball and take measurements of the panels to see what's what.  From what I can tell, all the damage is up front, so I just need to replace the front panel. This is very good.

Project "Ultimate Expedition Trooper" Begins

STEP 1: Strip down the 1991 Trooper

Here is the dash completely pulled. It's not hard, but it is a lot of stuff to unbolt and pull out. Took me a couple hours.
